The Industrial Court on July 3, 2025, officially launched the digitalisation of Court Hall Two in Kampala, alongside court halls in the Mbarara and Lira High Court circuits. The launch was presided over by the Deputy Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija.

The digitalisation also included the launch of the Industrial Court Case Information Management System (ICCIMS) at the Court. The system was designed to transform the administration of labour justice in Uganda.

ICCIMS offers a range of digital services, including:

  • Case tracking

  • E-filing

  • Virtual hearing scheduling

  • Access to court decisions

  • A digital resource library

Speaking at the launch, Hon. Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija said:

“This innovation is a critical milestone for the Industrial Court. It is part of our broader efforts to reduce case backlogs, enhance transparency, and bring labour justice closer to the people — especially workers and employers who seek timely dispute resolution.”

This development marks a major step forward in improving access to labour justice and is expected to benefit workers, employers, trade unions, legal practitioners, and other key stakeholders across the country. With faster processing of cases, reduced paperwork, and real-time access to case progress, ICCIMS is set to improve efficiency, trust, and public satisfaction with the Labour Justice System.

The launch of ICCIMS reflects ongoing efforts to modernise the court system and improve service delivery in the labour justice sector.
