Bar Course Students Visit the Industrial Court for an Insightful Session

On March 25, 2025, the Industrial Court of Uganda had the honor of hosting students from the Law Development Centre (LDC), accompanied by Ms. Lillian Nabirye. The visit aimed to provide the students with a deeper understanding of the court’s role in Labour and Employment law.

The students were welcomed by Hon. Justice Anthony Wabwire Musana, who elaborated on the purpose, operations, and significance of the Industrial Court. He explained how the court plays a crucial role in resolving labour disputes, ensuring fairness in employment matters, and fostering industrial harmony, which contributes to Uganda’s economic growth. They were also taught the processes of labour dispute resolutions, enhancing their practical knowledge of the legal system.

In his address, Justice Musana emphasized the importance of comprehensive legal knowledge. He encouraged the students to read extensively, covering all aspects of the law rather than limiting themselves to specific fields. He also highlighted the vast opportunities available in the legal profession, urging them to explore different areas with dedication and an open mind.

The visit proved to be an eye-opening experience, providing the students with valuable insights into the Industrial Court and Uganda’s legal landscape. It reinforced the significance of Labour law and the court’s role in promoting justice.
