On April 15, 2024, the Industrial Court of Uganda took part in the first-ever National Court Open Day, which took place at Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala. The event, themed “A People-Centered Approach to Justice,” aimed to foster public engagement with the Judiciary and promote transparency within the judicial process.

Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo highlighted the Judiciary’s dedication to accountability, noting that the event allowed the public to evaluate court services and propose areas for improvement. The involvement of the Industrial Court underscored its vital role in resolving industrial and labor-related disputes, thereby supporting the delivery of Labour justice that aligns with the needs of the Ugandan populace.

Additionally, the National Court Open Day facilitated direct communication between the Judiciary and the public, emphasizing the significance of public feedback in enhancing the effectiveness and fairness of Uganda’s Judicial system.
